Nowadays, there are a lot of different diets that people practice. Being vegetarian typically means avoiding eating meat and seafood, but eggs, dairy and animal by-products like honey and gelatine are usually ok.
Being vegan, on the other hand, means taking a step further to avoid all animal-related products as well. A balanced vegan diet usually include all kinds of vegetables (different colours for different nutrients), nuts and beans for protein, and fruits.
There are many reasons for people to opt for a vegan or vegetarian diet: religious reasons (Buddhists avoid meat and some spices), to end animal cruelty (we all have seen documentaries showing how slaughterhouses treat animals), for health reasons (such as lactose-intolerant), to be more environmental friendly (plants usually require less energy to grow than meat, and produce less pollution such as methane gases), and so on.
At tilligetup, we respect everyone’s dietary choices and we strive to create desserts that everyone can enjoy. So whether you’re a vegan, vegetarian, or a meat eater, we hope you can all celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions with our cakes and cookies made entirely out of plant-based ingredients.
Gluten is a protein formed when wheat flour is mixed with water. Some people are allergic to gluten, and some avoid gluten for health benefits such as to avoid skin irritations and bloating.
Most of our cakes are available gluten-free, in which we are replacing regular wheat flour with a GF mix that contains the following: white rice flour, whole grain brown rice flour, potato starch, whole grain sorghum flour, tapioca flour, xanthan gum.
A keto diet cuts out sugars and carbs so that the body burns fats for energy. It is usually practiced by people who are diabetic, or who aim to lose weight. At tilligetup, while keeping all our products vegan, we offer keto versions of some of our cakes and cookies for our friends and family who are cutting out sugar intake for health benefits. Our keto treats are sweetened with allulose and monkfruit extract, which contain 0 calories and are safe for people with diabetes. Since we replace wheat flour with almond and coconut ingredients in our keto products, our keto products are also gluten-free.
